Tomorrow is Black Friday. Some Tack Shops, like many stores, will be offering big savings on many of their products. For myself there is only one deal to look at. VTO is offering the Treadstone Winter Boot, 20% off. They are a faux fur lined Tall-Boot with full length zippers one the side. They are beautiful. Do I need them? Maybe. Can I afford them? No, not really. I think that I would use them daily though and that they would make me feel a little more secure. The gamble here is that I can’t try them on before I buy and I can’t return them if they don’t fit. Tough call, espically with my, ahem, physical modifications. Still, it may have to happen, I’ll just have to see.

Express Eventing is a shortened version of the more traditional 3 Day Event. I think its brilliant and I wish that we had it in USA. I would definitely sign up. Not only can an Express Event be done with fewer volunteers, less land and less financial support but it is a wonderful sport for the spectator, something Eventing could stand to improve on. It could also be made much safer by having the jumps made out of breakaway materials. Check out the stadium and course in the video below. It will make you drool.

This video is of a favorite of mine, Sunshine Numbers, running the the Colonial Cup Fall race, 2008. He is such a kind horse and a truly talented jumper. Sunshine is owned by Susan Sensor and trained by Arch Kingsley in Camden, SC.
